1.1 This Privacy Notice is intended to provide you with information on how Sommet Education ("Sommet Education", "we", "us", "our") process personal data you have provided to us or we have collected about you in connection with your participation in an online LinkedIn event arranged by us (the "Event").

1.2 We will only process your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Notice and applicable laws to which we are subject, including the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 (hereinafter the "GDPR").

1.3 Sommet Education is the data controller in relation to your personal data as described herein. You can contact us by using the contact details specified in Section 8 below.


2.1 When you sign up to or are invited to an on-line LinkedIn Event, we register your name and email address and possibly your employer and position. The purpose is to facilitate your registration and/or participation in the Event and to pursue our legitimate interests in hosting the Event (article 6(1) (b) and (f) of the GDPR).

2.2 During the Event, we may take photos or record video footages in general, in which you may appear. The purpose of our processing is our legitimate interest in documenting the Event and to subsequently communicate and market the Event in general towards medias on social media platforms, such as our LinkedIn and Facebook pages and on our websites. In some instances, you may be identifiable in the picture or video but you will not be identified using your name or personal information without your consent. In the same way, a photograph portraying a particular individual may be published only with the explicit consent of that individual (article 6(1) (a) and (f) of the GDPR). You will be notified if we intend to photograph/film an Event, for example, in the invitation or at the beginning of the Event. If you wish that your image or voice is not recorded and published, please feel free to turn off your camera and mute your microphone.

2.3 If you are a speaker at the on-line LinkedIn Event, we will also use your name, position, possibly your workplace or firm as well as biographical data and a profile photo of you, to market the Event and/or your presentation. The purpose of our processing is to pursue our legitimate interest in marketing and documenting the Event and/or your presentation. We will only use your profile picture with your consent (article 6(1) (a) and (f) of the GDPR).

2.4 In accordance with your preferences, as provided to us during the registration process, we may use your contact details to communicate with you about other events, news, and services we provide (article 6(1) (a) of the GDPR). Emails sent to you in this respect shall always contain an unsubscribe link.

2.5 Should Sommet Education wish to process your personal data for purposes other than those for which the personal data were originally collected, Sommet Education will provide you with information on this new purpose prior to any further processing.


3.1 We will in most cases collect your personal data from you or the person who register you to the LinkedIn Event. We may also collect your personal data directly from photos and video recordings from the Event. If you are a speaker at the Event, we may collect certain personal data in media articles, social networking posts or other public sources for example the world wide web.


4.1 Access to your personal data is granted only to Sommet Education staff, who are involved in the organization of the Event.

4.2 Where necessary, your personal data may be shared with our data processors including service providers that help us organize the Event or our cloud and hosting providers and others, who process data on our behalf. We have entered into data processing agreements that comply with article 28 of the GDPR with all our data processors to ensure that such data processors implement appropriate organizational and technical security measures in such a way that the processing complies with the requirements of the GDPR and ensures the protection of your rights. When such data processors are based in countries outside the European Economic Area or Switzerland, your personal data will only be transferred where the transfer is subject to one or more of the "appropriate safeguards" for international transfers prescribed by the GDPR (e.g. approved certification mechanism, signature of contractual clauses approved by the European Commission that provide appropriate safeguards etc.).

4.3 If you attend an Event co-organized by us, we may share your personal information with the co-organizer of the Event. In these circumstances, the co-organizer will also be a controller of your information, which will be subject to the co-organizer’ privacy statements. Also, please note that LinkedIn services are not owned or managed by Sommet Education and refer to LinkedIn Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy ( Sommet Education does not accept liability for LinkedIn policies or your use of LinkedIn services.

4.4 Photos and video recordings from Events may be made publicly available on social media sites, our websites or print publications. In some instances, you may be identifiable in the picture or audio but you will not be identified using your name or personal information without your consent. In the same way, a photograph portraying a particular individual may be published only with the explicit consent of that individual.

4.5 List of participants is shared among participants who gave their consent during registration.

4.6 We will not routinely pass your information to any other organization except where required to do so by law.


To obtain access to, and copies of, the personal data we hold about you.

To require that we cease processing your personal data if the processing is causing you damage or distress;

To require us not to send you marketing communications;

To request that we erase your personal data;

To request that we restrict our data processing activities in relation to your personal data;

To receive from us the personal data we hold about you, which you have provided to us, in a reasonable format specified by you, including for the purpose of transmitting that personal data to another data controller; and

To require us to correct the personal data we hold about you if it is incorrect.

6.1 As a general rule, when you have not participated, attended or registered to participate or attend in one of our events for 12 months, we will delete or anonymize your personal data unless we are obliged to hold it for a longer period under applicable law or regulations or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you. If you consent to stay in touch with us, or subscribe to our newsletter, essential information to communicate with you will be kept until you withdraw your consent or unsubscribe to receiving communications.


7.1 We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alterations, unauthorized disclosure or misuse of, or access to personal data transmitted, stored or otherwise processed.

7.2 We have limited access to your personal data to employees and contractors who have a relevant and reasonably required need to access your personal information to perform their work.

We are looking for Startups, entrepreneurs and innovators from all over the world with solutions to boost the Hospitality sector's quick recovery with resilient solutions. Entity should offer methods, processes, governance structures, social impact initiatives, new technological applications, existing technologies, amongst others are applicable.

Participants should meet the following criteria:

  • Being innovative in nature and provide value-added solutions
  • To have potential to be applied in many countries
  • To be sustainability-driven


Luxury travels, goods:

Solutions focused on luxury travels, goods & services and high-standards


Solutions focused on improving the service and operations in restaurants, catering, delivery services and retail

Hotels and hotel related operations:

Solutions focused on small to medium sized properties and family businesses including health and sanitary solutions, security protocols, operations efficiency, among others

Smart Real Estate:

Solutions focused on enhancing technology in real estate / small to medium sized properties and family businesses linked to Hospitality industry

The selection criteria that will be used shall be the following:

  • Innovation: The application of improved solutions that meet new requirements, unarticulated needs, or existing market needs. Such innovation takes place through the provision of more-effective products, processes, services, technologies, or business models that are made available to markets, governments and society.
  • Sustainability: An attribute that should be implemented in the services, business model, or solutions, to avoid or minimize the environmental, economic and social impact produced by the business activity. Solutions that help travel and consume to more respectful of the resources while not compromising the experience.
  • Digitalization: Solutions incorporating digital technologies in their application.

The most viable and disruptive solutions will be awarded as follows:

Connection with the UNWTO Network: Access to more than 5000 tourism-related startups, 930 corporations, 300 public institutions, 50 education institutions, 30 incubators and 200 investors.

Finalists will be eligible to receive a full scholarship (tuition fees, full accommodation and catering on campus offered in one of the 15 programmes below, 2 winners per programme)

Seed money for the 3 top most innovative projects

The projects will be funded by Eurazeo, from which Sommet Education is a portfolio Company. This means for the 3 winners even more chances of success for their projects and for Hospitality more guarantee to have scalable project around new services and products making an impact on the industry.
